Celebrating Sr. Genet’s New Mission with Gratitude and Blessings
The MSC sisters from Dubbo, Wollacha, and the Sadama community in Ethiopia gathered together on a Saturday night (22/2) in Dubbo for a very special occasion. They gathered together in the Sacred Heart Community(Dubbo) to bless and pray for Sr. Genet as she embraces her new mission in Kenya.

The sisters had the privilege of attending a beautiful Thanksgiving Mass at the parish of Our Lady of Lourdes. The Mass was a continuation of their big celebrations after the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. It was a time for them to express their gratitude for the Lord's blessings in opening a new mission in Kenya and to honor Sr. Genet for her commitment to serving the institute. Her willingness to say "YES" to the Lord's call is truly inspiring.
After the Mass, the sisters organized a farewell gathering that was both joyous and emotional. They enjoyed a good lunch together, followed by a traditional coffee ceremony(a Unique Ethiopian tradition that symbolizes hospitality and community). These moments allowed the sisters to bond, share stories, and express their good wishes to Sr. Genet.
They concluded with a visit to the chapel, where they gathered to give Sr. Genet a blessing. They prayed for her and the success of her new mission in Kenya. It was a moment of spiritual connection, filled with hope and faith for the journey that lies ahead. May her mission be blessed and fruitful, and may she carry with her the warmth and prayers of all her MSC sisters all over the world.
““Our gathering was not just a meeting but a heartfelt show of love, support and prayers for her journey ahead.” ”
