BECOME A SISTER
As consecrated women in Cabrinian religious life, we respond to God’s call to proclaim the Gospel as bearers of Christ’s Love in the world.
We give our lives to the service of those most in need, particularly children, youth and adults.
If you feel called to religious life and you want to know more about us and about our mission, send us an email and tell us about yourself.
The journey to become a sister
-
Aspirancy
After expressing your desire to join us, the sister in charge of accompanying you in your process of discernment will get in touch with you, and will visit you and your family, to help you understand your vocation.
-
Candidacy
Once you decide to join us, you will be invited to a “COME and SEE”, a period of one to three months period in which you live with us in one of our missions.
If you then actually decide to join us, you will start a first period of preparation to know each other deeply. During these two years during which you will study, pray, live in community and go to the missions, to understand if our congregation is a good fit for you.
-
Novitiate
You will then start an intense period of formation to discern your call to be a sister.
During the first year, your will learn more about our charism, our values, and our spirituality. During the second year you will have the opportunity to spend six months in one of our missions, and then go back to the novitiate to colplete your formation.
-
Juniorate
At the end of the novitiate, you will profess your first vows and will become a Missionary Sister of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
As a junior sister your will continue your process of discernment, formation, and mission under the guidance of a sister assigned to you. In this period, you will be living an intense apostolic experience in the communities we serve.
You will renew your vows every year for four/five years.
-
Perpetual profession
Once you feel ready, you can ask your formators and your superior to pofess your final vows and become a permament member of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
-
Lifetime ongoing fomation
Alongside your ministry, during your life as a sister, you will continue your formation, individually and together with the other sisters.
