The Feast of Mother Cabrini: A Celebration of Service and Compassion
On November 13th we celebrate the anniversary of the canonization of Mother Cabrini, and on the 14th we celebrate the anniversary of the foundation of the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
These days are an occasion to learn more about Mother Cabrini and to continue her legacy.
The sisters and staff of Cabrini Ministries in St. Philips, Eswatini, gathered together to celebrate the Feast of Mother Cabrini.
The Feast of Mother Cabrini is a profound occasion that unites us as a community dedicated to serving the most vulnerable in our society, particularly women and children, just as Mother Cabrini did during her remarkable life. This year, our celebration began with a heartfelt Mass, beautifully led by Fr. Mkhonta, the parish priest, alongside Fr. Maseko. The spiritual atmosphere set the tone for a day filled with reflection and gratitude.
Sr. Suany inspired us with motivational words, reminding us of the legacy of Mother Cabrini and the importance of our mission. Her message resonated deeply, emphasizing that we are all part of the Cabrini family, gathered in her memory to continue her work.
Following the Mass, we enjoyed a nourishing lunch that fostered camaraderie among our team. This time together was not just about sharing a meal; it was an opportunity for team-building, encouraging us to strengthen our bonds as daughters and sons of Mother Cabrini. We engaged in activities that reinforced our commitment to collaboration and support, essential values that drive our mission forward.
As an organization founded on the principles of Mother Cabrini, our work in Eswatini focuses on uplifting those in need. We strive to emulate her compassion and dedication, ensuring that we serve the most vulnerable members of our community. Our mission is not merely a task but a calling to advocate for women and children, providing them with the resources and support they need to thrive.
Mother Cabrini once said, βThe heart of Jesus is with the poor.β This quote encapsulates our purpose and reminds us of the profound impact we can make when we serve with love and dedication.
