Regional assembly starts in Addis Ababa

Representatives from the different sister communities and ministries in the Holy Spirit Region are currently gethered in Addis Ababa for the regional Assembly. The meeting started on December 3rd, the feast of St. Francis Xavier, who was a great inspiration to Mother Cabrini.

The assembly is an occasion to reflect on the roots of our being missionaries, and on how to carry on Mother Cabrini’s legacy.

56 people from 14 countries, and speaking more than 16 languages, are attending the meeting. In her opening remarks, Sr. Barbara Staley, Superior of the Holy Spirit Region, commended such variety of participants as a living testimony of the meaning of being missionaries: people who get out of their culture to share the love of Jesus.

Sr. Eliane Azevedo, General Superior, and Sr. Patricia Godoy, General Councillor, have also joined the Assembly.
