Sr. Shitaye’s Perpetual Profession

Sr. Shitaye on the altar is professing her final vows

On May 18, 2024, in the Parish of St. Anna at Sadama (Ethiopia), we had the joy to celebrate the profession of Perpetual Vows of Sr. Shitaye Esayas. Though the MSC sisters’ community in Sadama was only established in November 2023, the parishioners and priests really came together with Sr. Amarech, Sr. Aynalem and Sr. Shitaye to prepare a wonderful liturgy and lunch which we all celebrated together.

Bishop Seyoum Fransua, Vicar Apostolic of Hosanna, was the main celebrant alongside many visiting priests. The Parish Priest from Sr. Shitaye’s home parish, together with some parishioners and Sr. Shitaye’s family undertook a long journey from Welkite to attend the celebration.
