New outreach Pastoral Ministry starts in St. Philips, Eswatini
January 12th, 2025, marked a significant milestone as we embarked on another pastoral ministry which is dedicated to reaching out to various outstations of St. Philips Parish. We will be conducting Eucharistic Prayer services and fostering a sense of community and spiritual growth among the congregants every Sunday.
The primary mission of this pastoral ministry is to bring the spiritual essence of the church to those who may not have regular access to Sunday Mass. By traveling to different outstations, we aim to ensure that everyone feels included and connected to the larger church community. This initiative is a testament to our commitment to serve, support, and spiritually nurture our Parishioners, regardless of their location.
It was Sr. Suany's turn to lead the Eucharistic Prayer service on Sunday. Together with Sr. Evarlyne and the MSC candidates, Sr. Suany visited the community of St. Agnes of Rome chapel in Lubulini, a village 1 hour drive from St. Philips. Her dedication and passion for the ministry were evident in every aspect of the service. She began the service by warmly welcoming all attendees and invited the other sisters to introduce themselves. Her sermon was both engaging and insightful, drawing on themes of the baptism of the Lord and how it relates with our own baptism. The Eucharistic celebration was conducted with reverence and sincerity, allowing the participants to feel a deeper connection to their faith: Sr. Suany encouraged community participation throughout the service, making everyone feel valued and heard.
This first service of the pastoral ministry has set a promising precedent for future visits. The positive response and engagement from the community members are testaments to the ministry's potential impact. We look forward to continuing this journey, bringing spiritual enrichment and fostering a strong sense of community in each outstation we will be visiting.
